Carl received a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the
University of Utah. Working as a Control Systems Engineer
since then has given Carl experience with a wide range of control
hardware and software. His software development expertise has allowed
him to develop tools for advanced control, remote communications,
control strategy optimization, and other control tasks. He has project
experience implementing process control and HMI/SCADA for many
industrial clients.
Carl has been involved with several large projects at APCO.
He engineered, developed, and implemented a fully redundant SCADA
system for Central Utah Water Conservancy District in Orem, Utah.
This system has two base stations and over 60 RTUs communicating through

in Ogden, Utah. Working at Flying J Refinery in North Salt Lake,
Utah, he developed and commissioned advanced control and communications
routines.
Proficient in custom programming, Carl has developed communication code
used in SCADA systems in Provo City, Utah and Newfield Exploration.
Also for Newfield Exploration, he has developed embedded RTU code that
calculates oil/water fractions
Other projects Carl has worked on include Brush Resources, Delta, Utah;
North Davis Sewer District, Syracuse, Utah; Joint Powers Water Board,
Green River, Wyoming; ; Phillips 66 Refinery, Woods Cross, Utah;
Conoco-Venco, West Virginia; Sorenson Medical, Salt Lake City, Utah
